Our Mission
The Wilson Parrot Foundation is dedicated to rescuing,
rehabilitating and re-homing neglected and abused Parrots. Our mission is to teach
the public about having parrots as pets and how to provide for them with caring
and compassion.
The WPF
will continue traveling to shows and events all over the east coast to raise funds
and educate people about care and commitment to tropical birds.

Sponsorship Opportunity
We hope you all are planning a wonderful
holiday season with your families. We have an opportunity to
help us out and
to have a gift of thanks for yourself or your special someone.
If you'd like
to be a "local volunteer" for our foundation, we'd like to help. With your
contribution of $100 or more, we'd like to send you a "Wilson Parrot Foundation
Volunteer" shirt to wear around your neighborhood to show your commitment to rescue
and rehabilitate Parrots. Just let us know the correct size and we'll send
it out.
"We received our shirts today! They are quite
colorful! one is a conure green and the other is a parrot orange. The
shirts themselves are of high quality material that I am sure will withstand many
"beakings" from our little flock. We will wear them often!

Thank you
A&E Cage Co!
Our flock received
2 large early Easter baskets this weekend. They were full of toys and snacks for
our flock. They were a generous donation from A&E Cage Co.
The birds are having so
much fun playing with their colorful, durable, new toys. Watch them on
Parrot Cam 1 and Parrot Cam 2 on our web site.

RIO
If you have just left the theater after watching Rio (Fox films 2011) and Blu's
story has motivated you to get a macaw please consider the following advice.
Seek out a local bird shelter like the Wilson Parrot Foundation, where potential
owners can physically interact with these birds more so than in a pet store
atmosphere. This is not to say that you should not purchase a new pet from them,
but to fully understand the responsibility associated with this decision,
volunteer first, learn, and then choose a new flock member.
Wish List
There have been people asking us why we don't have a wish list on our web site to
give people an idea of the items we need to care for the birds. So here is
our list:
-
Safeway gift cards to buy fruits and vegetables
for the birds
-
Medium to large parrot toys
- Cage liners
(cage catchers) of many different sizess
-
Medium size
RoudyBush pellets
-
Home Depot
or Lowe's gift cards for supplies
-
Petco or PetSmart
gift cards for supplies
-
We are still
in desperate need of a late model, full size transportation van
-
Funds to build
a third Aviary
-
Funds to someday
buy a farm so we will not have to turn away any more mistreated, neglected or unwanted
parrots.

Thank you Cage Catchers!
The Wilson Parrot Foundation residents, from
the smallest parakeet to the largest macaw, enjoy a clean, fresh-white cage bottom
liner in their cage pretty much every time the
paper is soiled. The birds and the volunteers
enjoy freedom from scattered bedding mess, soggy papers, fungi
contamination and other unsightly, unsanitary conditions. Click the logo below
if you are interested in ordering your own Cage Catchers.
